Nail ridges
Nails are an insight into your general wellbeing.
Trauma Injury is a common cause of ridging. Bruises, cuts, tears, or smashing the nail can cause nail trauma and compromises the appearance of the nail.
Vertical ridges are often a genetic attribute to one’s fingernails and do become more pronounced with age. While nail ridges are usually not a serious problem, verticle ridges can however serve as a warning sign, particularly if they develop suddenly or if the ridges form in an unusual way. If ridges are forming unusually it is advisable to refer to your podiatrist (feet) or GP to rule out possible issues.
